Stephen Gyllenhaal is a film and television director, writer and producer. His directing credits include PARIS TROUT, for which he received a DGA Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Dramatic Specials, as well as the theatrical films, WATERLAND, A DANGEROUS WOMAN, LOSING ISAIAH and HOMEGROWN. In 2012, he received a DGA nomination for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Movies for Television for GIRL FIGHT. He co-wrote and directed the indie film GRASSROOTS, which made its theatrical debut in summer 2012, and he recently directed the indie film So. B. It, based on the best-selling young adult novel. He also directed the Peabody award-winning dramatic series RECTIFY for the Sundance Channel. His producing credits include the TV movies LIVING WITH THE DEAD, THE PATRON SAINT OF LIARS, and A SHATTERED MIND. Stephen is currently directing THE BUSINESS OF SAVING THE WORLD.
Kathleen grew up in Hawaii watching movies and knew from an early age that she wanted to be a filmmaker. After teaching film production for nearly ten years at UC-Boulder and Vassar College, Kathleen left her tenured position so she could write and direct full-time. Working in both documentary and narrative forms, Kathleen’s work explores themes of motherhood, multiculturalism, freedom, and social change. She is the writer/director of IN UTERO, an award-winning feature-length documentary that explores how emotional traumas endured by pregnant mothers can cause lifelong complications in their children. She most recently directed THE BOND, a one-hour documentary about the longterm impact of mother/infant attunement. Kathleen lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son, two dogs and cat — and the family of wild peacocks that lives in the neighborhood.
Ambika Leigh is a producer, editor and director who has created hundreds of hours of film and digital content throughout her multifaceted career. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2007, she has worked with Apple, Sony Pictures, PBS, CNN, National Geographic, DirecTV, Microsoft, Nu Boyana Studios, and New Form Digital Studios as well as numerous Oscar, Emmy and Grammy-winning artists. Ambika is listed on The Director List, and is a member of The Sundance Institute, Film Independent, Women in Film, and We Make Movies. She is an Adobe Certified Expert on Premiere Pro CC and has taught many post-production workshops for RED Digital Cinema. She is also continually striving for greater personal awareness, political responsibility, racial and gender equality, and global connectivity. Her recent documentary, THE MAKING OF DRIVEN, about the aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, was chosen to screen at the 2018 Venice International Film Festival.
Meg Sutton is a Los Angeles based writer-director from Norwalk, Connecticut. She worked as a content writer & video editor before attending Chapman University in Orange, California where she earned her MFA in Directing. Her award-winning film, L.A. FADEAWAY, has screened at over 35 festivals around the world. She has directed & produced commercial material and music videos for award winning artists and was named a 2018 Commercial Diversity Directing Program Finalist. Her work has been supported by the Leo Freedman Foundation and she was also named a 2018 WomenCinemakers winner. She is presently in production on a feature documentary about the incarcerated female firefighters in California. Meg is a member of Film Independent, Women in Film and Soapbox. She currently serves as the Production Coordinator at Upstream Cinema.
